The background of peptide therapeutics will be described including standardly used modifications. The requirements for toxicology program for peptides will be discussed along with gaps in current guidance documents. Aspects of how immunogenicity can impact a toxicology study will also be discussed. This presentation is intended to provide the background information for the speakers following this talk.
